ABOUT ALEX

     Chicago native, Alex Bauwens (b. 1988), is an award winning artist and equestrian currently living and working in Scottsdale, Arizona. She began studying the figure and attending life drawing classes at the age of 16. Alex has studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the American Academy of Art, and the Palette and Chisel. Alex has also completed an atelier program at Vitruvian Fine Art Studio and an apprenticeship with Scott Tallman Powers.

 

     Alex has been the recipient of many awards and featured in various publications, including the Fine Art Connoisseur Award, the Artist's Magazine Award, and most recently featured on the cover of Horse and Rider Magazine. In 2018-19 her painting, "Asleep", was chosen for the prestigious Art Renewal Center's travelling exhibition and was shown at the Salmagundi Club in NY, Sotheby's in LA, and the MEAM museum in Barcelona. 

 

    Alex specializes in commission work and imaginative realism. Her work is collected worldwide.
